Meet The Founder

My name is Antoinette — certified skincare formulator, self-care devotee, and founder of Emike Luxury.
I was born in Nigeria, where care was never rushed and beauty was never separate from wellbeing. Some of my earliest memories are of my mother bathing my siblings and me with African black soap infused with herbs, then sealing our skin with shea butter. Our skin glowed, and people noticed. At the time, it felt ordinary. Looking back, it was sacred.
Years later, my relationship with self-care deepened. In 2017, I experienced severe hormonal acne that stripped away my confidence and forced me to look beyond surface solutions. Through naturopathic care, holistic nutrition, and a renewed attention to what I put in and on my body, I learned something lasting: healing, like beauty, requires intention. The shift was transformative — not just for my skin, but for how I understood care.
Pregnancy and motherhood sharpened that conviction. I became more discerning, more curious, and more unwilling to accept products that were either unsafe, ineffective, or disingenuous. Drawing from my science background and love for research, I began formulating for myself, then for family and friends. What started as personal necessity grew into purpose. Formal training followed. Certification followed. Emike Luxury was born.
The name Emike is my mother’s first name, rooted in the Etsako tribe of Nigeria. It means my desire. It is both personal and prophetic — honoring the woman who passed down quiet rituals of care, and expressing my desire to create a more thoughtful vision of luxury.
My Christian faith is the engine behind this work. It calls for stewardship over resources, integrity in how we formulate and speak about our products, and humility in how we serve. At Emike Luxury, we choose meaningful ingredients — plant-based where it matters, science-backed where it’s needed — used at honest, effective levels. Nothing performative. Nothing deceptive.
Each product is crafted in small batches with care, designed to create pockets of peace — moments that restore dignity to the everyday. My hope is that when you light a candle, apply a fragrance, or return to a ritual, you feel held by intention.
This is Emike Luxury.
My desire — shared with you.
Thank you for being here.
And welcome to Emike.
